85% of those hospitals surveyed support their physicians’ and staffs’ use of personal devices at work.
50% of respondents are planning to expand/revive their Wi-Fi network in the next 12 months.
83% support the use of Apple iPads on the network.
93% of hospitals surveyed own their own network infrastructure.
60% are supporting EMR applications on mobile devices.
76% of respondents said that they provide Internet access to patients and visitors, with 58% doing so through open networks with no password protection, which is a bad idea!
So as you can see from the results above, hospitals are embracing BYOD at varying degrees.
