Technology has become an integral part of our society. It’s a part of everything we do including how we learn and teach. To better prepare students for their future careers, using technology in the classroom is essential. The infographic below gives 5 benefits of technology in the classroom. Of course there are a ton more, but this is a good illustration to get you started.
Okay, it’s obvious that classroom technology in the classroom is something every school should consider. Even president Obama is speaking about the importance of technology in schools. He recently noted only 30 percent of students in the U.S. have high-speed Internet access in their classrooms, compared to 100 percent in South Korea. He also said the average school has the same bandwidth as the average home, an issue given the number of people the bandwidth must serve.
The first step in any classroom technology integration is prepping the school wireless network. If the wireless is crappy and can’t support the magnitude of devices each student brings in through BYOD or the school supplies with 1:1, the program is a bust. All those great devices are a complete waste without a secure and successful school wireless network infrastructure.
